Grippy and concentrated with plenty of aromatic complexity.⁠ ⁠ Made by Lucy & Alysha, 2024 Top 50 @younggunofwine winemakers who named their label for the Sicilian words for grow and nurture. They’re based in West Gippsland on the lands of the Kurnai people. This fruit was dry grown in Heathcote. Low yield, handpicked, destemmed, 1 tonne ferment, pumped over 2xdaily, skins for 30 days, basket pressed to French hogsheads (25% new Damy). Spunky Coal River Pinot – Future Perfect House Wine 2023 – violets, sour cherry, blackcurrant, damson plum, broken brambles, leather, beetroot, dried orange peel, oolong tea, ironstone earth, rustic barnyard notes.⁠ ⁠ Made on the industrial outskirts of Hobart in a communal winery that was once a meat processing facility. Winemaker, Thomas New sourced earlier picked D5V12 and MV6 Pinot from Coal River Valley in Tasmania.
